Have you ever felt stuck in the midst of your career? Like, you weren’t sure what opportunities you had to really learn more or work your way up the ladder? Maybe you’ve considered starting your own business or trying out freelance work, but aren’t sure whether to take the leap. I mean, you could lose your benefits and your consistent pay, right? But, what if doing your own thing actually works? Imagine that freedom! Your wheels just keep spinning round and round as you argue with yourself on what you should do.
Your wheels just keep spinning round and round as you argue with yourself on what you should do. And if you’re anything like me, you often wonder what God thinks about all this. After all, I just want to do what pleases Him. So, on a deeper level, are you meant to be where you are – even if the pay isn’t great or your opportunities are few and far between? Are you meant to be a light to your coworkers and finish the job the Lord has set before you?
Or are you feeling nudges that it’s time to move on? That you’ve run your course here and are ready for the next step He has for you?
This has been my internal battle for several months now. Lately, I’ve been feeling those nudges to move on – and they just keep getting louder. But it’s not like those fears have just disappeared. They’re still standing tall and looming over me, casting a shadow over me in an attempt at intimidation. And I’ll be honest, sometimes it works.
But, this time – I’m not buying it. I’m taking a step out in faith and I’m going to start preparing myself for this next step in my life. I plan on branching out and asking members of the community, those in church and even freelance sites if they need help with any advertising work – whether it’s Graphic Design, Web Content, Social Media, Photography or Copywriting/Editing. I’m going to start working towards my client base and building it up so I can start to really launch my Freelance Business on a solid foundation.
I may even start an online boutique – it has been a dream for awhile now. 🙂
I’m just so ready to stop living in fear and step out in faith. I’m ready to see what the Lord has in store for me and what His plans are. I’m getting out of the metaphorical boat and answering the question God has been asking me all along:
Do you trust me?
And with a resounding, “YES!” I gladly take His hand and follow where He leads me. Because for all I know, this is the moment for which I have been created.
“Perhaps this is the moment for which you have been created.” – Esther 4:14
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” – Joshua 1:9
